First of all, we’d like to send an official and final congratulations to Death Before Dishonor and everyone who has supported them over the last month. Since the release of “Count Me In” DBD has been getting appreciation from a lot of people in the US and abroad. The album spent 4 weeks on Billboard’s Top Independent albums chart. It’s nothing that will make them or B9 complacent, but it’s a huge accomplishment and we are really happy for the band after how hard they’ve worked and toured for the last two years.
Ambitions has finished recording their Bridge Nine debut CD/LP “Stranger.” This is a 13 song epic that takes the groundwork laid on their Think Fast! EP and steps it up in every direction. The music is more diverse, the vocals are stronger, and it’s a one of a kind record that takes influence from punk and hardcore, reminiscent of a fast Quicksand, a more modern version of Shelter, Bad Religion or Dag Nasty, but it’s truly its own beast. Expect it in September with details to follow shortly.
Our webstore has been getting shot full of new stuff in the last couple days. Right now, you can get your hands on some new stuff. The Ruiner CD, Ruiner LP, Ceremony 7″, package deal, as well as new Ruiner shirts, new Ceremony shirts, new DBD shirts and plenty more have been added. We even found a few No Turning Back gems hiding from us, so those are up as well.
After a long wait, we also added the remixed and remastered version of Champion’s classic CD “Promises Kept”. After the original studio sessions and Champions tour schedule, the version that was available for the last 3 years was something neither the band or engineer Kurt Ballou liked. Now, all has been fixed and it sounds the way it should have. It’s louder, clearer and it’s an incredible difference.
Almost every Bridge Nine band is on tour this summer. This is just halfway through an incredible year for us, and if you live somewhere in America or Europe, you’re getting a chance to see at least one of our bands. Sound & Fury at the end of July has No Turning Back, Have Heart, Ceremony and Crime In Stereo. This is Hardcore in Philly has Death Before Dishonor, Have Heart, Crime In Stereo, Ambitions, and Ceremony, so we’re making our rounds.
Ruiner’s “Prepare To Be Let Down” is in stores now. We have the vinyl, CD, and a few new sweet shirts in the webstore.
Absolute Punk-“Ruiner pleases, triumphs, and affects. Prepare To Be Let Down didn’t save my life or anything quite so melodramatic, but it did make me view hardcore in a new way. This one will be hard to top.”
Stuff Magazine-“When your full-length record is only 21 minutes long you have to make every second count; and this Baltimore-area hard-core outfit has done just that. Every song is chock-full of killer riffs and hard-core sensibility without getting preachy or trite. There are almost no breakdowns, but plenty of energy and just the right amount of melody make this one of the best records we’ve heard in a while.”
