Do you remember when we were going to retire on comic book sales?

Back in the late 80s, early 90s, instead of hanging at CBs or the Anthrax, I was collecting comic books. Of course, I was even a teenager yet. But there was a time when comic books ruled my life. I had a subscription to GI Joe and the Uncanny X-men, which later changed to a subscription to X-men. When Uncanny X-Men ended, of course.

Then later, I dreamed of selling all these comics books and retiring at an early age. That was quite the dream. Of course, now a days, it just doesn't look like it will happen. Ebay sales are slim, and unless they books are graded, it just isn't going to happen.

But courtesy of a post on a few message boards, I got to dig around in the back of my closet and remember the good times. I would spend hours pouring over these comics. Locked away in my room, listening to my tape player, examining each page as if it were a piece of fine art.
C'est la vie. They are still worth reading, in my book.

ha ha…I do remember that. I had boxes upon boxes of comics in my basement. Finally sold them all through ebay to kick start my newest obsession with collecting vinyl. You know, I didn’t make a profit on any of them.
